First off, congratulations to Floofy for becoming the team’s MVP for the Extra Life 2009 event! Her tireless effort brought a lot more eyes to our stream and a lot more money to the kids who need it.

Secondly, we brought in a grand total of $604 for the hospital and kids, and streamed live gaming video for over 33 hours. That’s well beyond our 24-hour goal and a complete success in teamwork. Thank you, everyone– those of you who streamed and those of you who watched alike!

This is not the end, though– The hospital will continue to take donations until the end of the month towards this year’s Extra Life event. We will continue to stream, as well.

I know you may have some questions, so I’ll try to answer anything I can think of outright right now. If there’s something I missed, feel free to reply and I’ll answer it.

Do you touch any of the money? Do you get paid for this?

No. We may or may not get a t-shirt depending on how many of you donate, but we get paid absolutely nothing. We’re doing this for the fact it’ll help these kids, not for any personal gain.

Where is the stream currently located?

That would be right here! Please note that we stream outside of this charity event as well!

Do you have a backup plan in case Livestream experiences problems?

We have a backup account. We’ll put up a link from the Livestream site’s chat window if things break on the Livestream side of things.

What do you guys plan to play?

Whatever we feel like. I, Firehawke, definitely know what I plan to play for the most part, but I’m also leaving my schedule open for ‘You know, I feel like playing X‘ snap decisions.

In short, we’ll play anything from Contra to Castlevania to Touhouto Shadow Complex to Ys: Oath at Felghana. You won’t know until you watch!

How are the chat policies during the event?

We’re going to be tightening up the chat rules a bit for the event. Normally we’re pretty loose on what we accept from people, but in this particular case we’re going to have a lot of people coming in for the first time where some of the former borderline behavior and material we let slip by for lack of drama is going to be offensive and create problems. As a result, we have no choice but to have a harder stance on this for the duration of the event.

Additionally, the cat’s been out of the bag for a few days, so I’d like to introduce two of our newest streaming members: No and Weegee!

Firehawke, ForteMP3, No, and Weegee dueled it out in Mega Man 2 to see who was best. The results are as follows:

They then decided this wasn’t enough and went on for a second round, this time in Mega Man X. After some initial problems with the emulation that took No out of the game almost immediately, Weegee forfeited. Firehawke later conceded near the end of the game, giving the following results:

We haven’t given up on the streaming thing. We’re still alive. Things are going to be really sporadic until things settle down.

Lastly, if I continue to see garbage spewed on the chat while we’re on hiatus, I’ll just shut the chat down. Consider that the only warning.

First thing’s first: NO, we are NOT stopping the streaming thing. We remain commited to the whole streaming process. It’s fun for us, it’s usually fun for our viewers.

That said, the quality of the Mogulus experience has gone WAY down in the past two weeks. The advertising is obtrusive, connection quality to streams has gotten flaky at best, and we’ve had several mini-outages of late as well. In short, there is a growing level of dissatisfaction and frustration among us as to how the streaming is actually going.

Starting next week on Monday or Tuesday, we will begin investigating sites like Justin.TV to see if the quality is as good as we would like it. The remaining major problem is how all of YOU, our faithful viewers, will take this.

We have had people in the past say “We won’t go to Justin.TV for any reason!” and so I ask all of you–

If you don’t want to go to Justin.TV or any other site, what would it take to convince you? I believe that the site shouldn’t matter so much as long as the content is working– but under Mogulus the content quality is starting to suffer greatly.

I’ve managed to get myself a CPU upgrade, which has helped immensely in terms of streaming some stuff I couldn’t before.

New stuff on VoD includes Mega Man 8 (Saturn version, US dub) and Mega Man X (SNES).

Also a complete ThunderForce 6 run was recently acomplished, but it won’t be making it on VoD due to it being on a single clip with several other runs.

Let’s see.. we also have two new videos in the SNES section. A run through a rather underappreciated SNES title called HyperZone and a complete run (including Hadouken capsule) through Mega Man X.

Forte and I are currently discussing plans for a race to be held this month. More details on that as they’re hammered out.
